PUBLIC HEALTH (PRESERVATIVES, ETC., IN FOOD REGULATIONS, 1928 and 1943) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1972.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 7 of the Butter and Margarine Act, 1907 and sections 5 and 54 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) after consultation with the Minister for Industry and Commerce and the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Preservatives, etc., in Food Regulations, 1928 and 1943) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of September, 1972.

3. Articles 4 (1), 4 (2), 5 (1), 5 (2), 11 (1) of and the First and Second Schedules to the Public Health (Saorstát Eireann) (Preservatives, etc., in Food) Regulations, 1928 (S.R. and O. 1928 No. 54) are hereby revoked.

4. The Public Health (Preservatives, etc., in Food) (Amendment) Regulations, 1943 (S.R. and O. 1943 No. 74) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations, which come into operation on 1 September, 1972, revoke the provisions relating to preservatives and colouring matter in food in the Public Health (Saorstát Eireann) (Preservatives, etc., in Food) Regulations, 1928 and the Public Health (Preservatives, etc., in Food) (Amendment) Regulations, 1943.
