S.I. No. 339/1971 - Oifig an Árd-Chláraitheóra (Hours of Business) Regulations, 1971.


The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Vital Statistics and Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1952 (No. 8 of 1952) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Oifig an Árd-Chláraitheóra (Hours of Business) Regulations, 1971.

2. The searches of the indexes referred to in section 70 of the Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1844, section 50 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 and section 17 of the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, may be made only during the period from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on any weekday which is not a Saturday or—

(a) Christmas Day or when that day falls on a Saturday the next following Tuesday,

(b) Saint Stephen's Day or when that day falls on a Saturday the next following Monday,

(c) Saint Patrick's Day or when that day falls on a Saturday the next following Monday

(d) Good Friday, Easter Monday,

(e) any other day which is a public holiday.

3. The Oifig An Árd-Chláraitheóra (Hours of Business) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 114 of 1967 ) are hereby revoked.
