FISHERY PRODUCTS (REGULATION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1971.

I JOHN FAHEY, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 , (No. 18 of 1947), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1965 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 )), and the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 123 of 1970 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This' Order may be cited as the Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Order, 1971.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1972.

3. The export of—

(a) frozen fillets of cod, haddock and whiting;

(b) frozen fillets of sole, plaice, lemon sole, dabs, megrims, brill and turbot;

(c) frozen fish stick blocks;

(d) frozen pre-cooked crumbed fish fillets (skin-on);

(e) frozen Dublin Bay prawn (Nephrops Norvegicus) tail meats, and

(f) frozen kippers and kipper fillets,

save under and in accordance with a license in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), is hereby prohibited.

4. This Order shall not apply to frozen fillets of cod, haddock, whiting, sole, plaice, lemon sole, dabs, megrims, brill and turbot which have been smoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order prohibits, except under license, the export of certain frozen fishery products.
