RESTRICTIVE TRADE PRACTICES (ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1971.

I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1953 (No. 14 of 1953). hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Restrictive Trade Practices (Electrical Appliances and Equipment) (Amendment) Order, 1971.

2. The Restrictive Trade Practices (Electrical Appliances and Equipment) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 151 of 1971 ), is hereby amended by the insertion in Article 12 (1) after "another" of "of the same class".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend Section 12 (1) of the original Order so that a supplier is only prohibited from differentiating between purchasers in the application of his terms and conditions of supply, in so far as purchasers in the same class are concerned. The Order requires to be confirmed by an Act of the Oireachtas before it will have the force of law.
