HEALTH CONTRIBUTIONS ACT, 1971 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1971.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 14 of the Health Contributions Act, 1971 (No. 21 of 1971) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Contributions Act, 1971 (Commencement) Order, 1971.

2. The Health Contributions Act, 1971 , shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1971.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings the Health Contributions Act, 1971 , into operation on the 1st October, 1971. From that date, regular contributions towards the cost of hospital and other services under Part IV of the Health Act, 1970 , will be payable, in the main by persons who, with their dependants, have limited eligibility for those services.
