SOCIAL WELFARE (REMUNERATION LIMIT FOR INSURED PERSONS) ORDER, 1971.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (2) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (No. 20 of 1965), hereby make the following order with respect to which, pursuant to that section, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Remuneration Limit for Insured Persons) Order, 1971.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 3rd day of May, 1971.

3. The rates of remuneration specified in paragraph I (inserted by the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (No. 20 of 1965)) of Part II of the First Schedule to the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), are hereby varied by the substitution of "sixteen hundred pounds" for "twelve hundred pounds" in each place where it occurs in the said paragraph.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the First Schedule to the Social Welfare Act, 1952 , by raising from £1.200 a year to £1,600 a year the remuneration limit for insurance applicable to non-manual workers.
