ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (CIUNTY OF WESTMEATH) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1971

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations :—

(1) These Regulations maybe cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Westmeath) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1971.

(3) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Westmeath) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1967 ).

(4) The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the deletion of the matter at reference 2(e).

(5) The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended as follows:—

(i) by the addition at reference 6 of the following :—

"(b) The Delvin Road for a distance of 60 yards from the town boundary."

(ii) by the addition of the following reference :—

"9. The following roads at Raharney

(a) The Killucan-Ballivor road between a point 185 yards north east of its junction with the Delvin Road and a point 200 yards north-west of its junction with the Wardenstown Road.

(b) The Delvin Road for a distance of 300 yards from its junction with the Killucan-Ballivor road.

(c) The Riversdale Road for a distance of 270 yards from its junction with the Killucan-Ballivor road.

(d) The Wardenstown Road for a distance of 210 yards from its junction with the Killucan-Ballivor road.

(e) The Joristown Lower Road for a distance of 180 yards from its junction, near Raharney Bridge, with the Killucan-Ballivor road."

(6) The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended as follows:—

(i) by the substitution for the matter at reference 1(f) of

"(f) The Dublin Road between a point 810 yards north west of the boundary of the Urban District of Ahtlone and a point 50 yards north-west of its junction with Kilmacoo Three Roads.",

(ii) by the addition at reference 5 of the following :-

"(c) The Dublin Road between a point 40 yards east af its junction with the Delvin Road and a point 50 yards east of the intersection of the town boundary with the northern side of the Dublin Road."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limit) County of Westmeath) Regulations, 1967 and alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in County Westmeath.
