CREAMERY BUTTER (PACKAGING) ORDER, 1971.

I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 5 (1) of the Creamery (Amendment) Act, 1934 (No. 33 of 1934), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Creamery Butter (Packaging) Order, 1971.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1971.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order "creamery butter" means butter which has been manufactured in premises registered in the register of creameries and has not been subsequently blended or re-worked.

4. It is hereby declared that section 5 of the Creamery (Amendment) Act, 1934 (No. 33 of 1934) shall apply to the business of packaging creamery butter for sale on the home market.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is that a licence of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries is required as from the operative date for the carrying on of the business of packaging creamery butter for sale on the home market.
