POSTAL ORDER (INLAND) AMENDMENT (No. 10) REGULATIONS, 1971.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 23 and 24 of the Post Office Act, 1908, section 5 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1951 (No. 17 of 1951), and section 3 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Postal Order (Inland) Amendment (No. 10) Regulations, 1971.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of February, 1971.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. The Postal Order (Inland) Regulations, 1905, are hereby amended by the substitution of the following for Regulations 4 and 5 (inserted by the Postal Order (Inland) Amendment (No. 9) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 265 of 1968 ):

"4. Postal orders shall be issued for the following sums, namely: multiples of five new pence between £0.05 and £1.00, both inclusive, and £1.25, £1.50 and multiples of one pound between £2.00 and £10.00, both inclusive.

5. The poundage payable on postal orders shall be as follows:

For an order for any multiple of £0.05 between £0.05 and £0.45, both inclusive ... ... ...

For an order for any multiple of £0.05 between £0.50 and £1.00, both inclusive, and for £1.25 and £1.50 ... ... ... ... ... ...

For an order for any multiple of £1.00 between £2.00 and £10.00, both inclusive ... ... ...

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Postal Order service and comes into operation on the 15th February, 1971. It authorises the decimal currency equivalents of the values of postal orders which shall be issued and of the poundage payable therefor.
