DUBLIN DENTAL HOSPITAL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1963 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1971.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Sections 3 , 4 and 6 of the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961 (No. 27 of 1961) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin Dental Hospital (Establishment) Order, 1963, (Amendment Order), 1971.

2. The Dublin Dental Hospital (Establishment) Order, 1963, ( S.I. No. 129 of 1963 ) shall be amended as follows:—

(a) In sub-article (1) of article 5, " thirteen " shall be substituted for " ten ".

(b) In Article 8, " four " shall be substituted for " three ".

(c) In sub-article (2) of article 11 "four" shall be substituted for " three " wherever it occurs.

(d) Article 16 shall be amended by the addition thereto of the following sub-articles:—

"(3) The Board may appoint committees consisting of members of the Board to assist the Board in relation to its day-to-day business and to furnish advice concerning its functions.

(4) Any committee so appointed shall act subject to such directions as may be given by the Board and any expenditure of moneys by such committee shall be subject to the approval of the Board."

(e) The following sub-article shall be substituted for sub-article (2) of Article 18:—

"(2) The financial year of the Board shall be the year ending on 31st March and for the purpose of this provision the period commencing on 1st January, 1970 and ending on 31st March, 1970, shall be deemed to be a financial year.

(f) Article 22 shall be revoked ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to increase the membership of the Dublin Dental Hospital Board from eleven to fourteen members (including the Chairman) to increase the quorum for meetings, to enable the Board to appoint committees consisting of its members, to change the financial year from the year ending 31st December to the year ending 31st March and to remove the restriction whereby persons in the employment of the Board are disqualified from being members of the Board.
