ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1961 (SECTION 103) (OFFENCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1971.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 103 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), amended as regards the latter section by sections 6 and 64 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.

2. The Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) are hereby amended as follows:–

(a) in article 5 "Two Pounds" shall be substituted for "One Pound",

(b) in the form prescribed by article 4 "two pounds" shall be substituted for "one pound".

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1971.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) by substituting the sum of £2 for the sum of £1 as the amount which a person liable to prosecution for an offence to which section 103 applies may pay as an alternative to the institution of a prosecution.
