FOREIGN POST AMENDMENT (No. 11) WARRANT, 1970.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 , (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1970.

2. In this Warrant "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Post Warrant, 1949 ( S.I. No. 267 of 1949 ).

3. The First Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 ), and Regulation 3(c) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 10) Warrant, 1969, ( S.I. No. 152 of 1969 )) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entry therein numbered 4 (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 )) of the entry in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

5. The Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 7 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant 1968, ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 )) of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant.

6. Regulation 5 (1) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1956 ( S.I. No. 148 of 1956 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for "ls. 4d." (inserted by Regulation 8 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant 1968 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 )) of "2s. 0d."

7. Regulation 5 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 5) Warrant, 1957 ( S.I. No. 58 of 1957 ), is hereby amended—

( a ) by the substitution for "4d." (inserted by Regulation 9 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 )) in both places where it occurs of "6d.", and

( b ) by the substitution for "2d." (inserted by the said Regulation 9 of the said Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968) of "3d."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Post service and comes into operation on the 1st October, 1970. It authorises increases in the postage rates for letters, postcards, printed packets, printed packets (reduced rate and bulk posting rate), sample packets, small packets, as well as in fees for the registration and insurance services.
