HARBOUR RATES (DROGHEDA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1970.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and after due compliance with section 106 of the said Act, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1970.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 13th day of July, 1970.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 (S.R. & O., No. 228 of 1947).

3. The Principal Order shall have effect as if—

(a) the following were substituted for the First Schedule :

The appropriate charges at reference number (1) (b) above on first entry to the Harbour and in addition on every ton of the net tonnage or half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater, with a minimum of 120 rateable tons for each day (Sundays excepted) during the continuance of the salvage operations or in the breaking up or removal of wrecks, a sum not exceeding ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

4. Where a rate specified at reference number 15 in the First Schedule (inserted by this Order) to the Principal Order is chargeable on any goods, no other rate specified in that Schedule shall be charged on those goods.

5. The Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 78 of 1966 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to authorise the Drogheda Harbour Commissioners to charge revised maximum tonnage and goods rates.
