IMPORTATION OF DOGS AND CATS ORDER OF 1969 (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1969.

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 , 10 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Importation of Dogs and Cats Order of 1929 (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1969.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of November, 1969.

3. (1) The Importation of Dogs and Cats Order of 1929 ( S. R. & O. No. 4 of 1929 ), as amended by the Importation of Dogs and Cats Order of 1929 (Amendment) Order, 1969 ( S.I. No. 204 of 1969 ), shall not apply in relation to a canine animal or a feline animal which is imported by being brought to the State from the Isle of Man, and " imported dog or cat " as defined in the said Order of 1929, as so amended, shall not include any such animal which is so imported.

(2) Notwithstanding the Importation of Dogs and Cats Order of 1929 (Amendment) Order, 1969, the said Order of 1929 shall apply to a canine animal or a feline animal taken from the Isle of Man into a port in any other country (except the State and Northern Ireland) as if the animal were an imported dog or cat within the meaning of that Order.

(3) In this Article " canine animal " and " feline animal " each have the same meaning as in the said Order of 1929.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order removes the restrictions on the importation of canine and feline animals from the Isle of Man, which were imposed under the Importation of Dogs and Cats Order of 1929 (Amendment) Order, 1969.
