DUNDALK TRAFFIC (ONE-WAY STREETS) TEMPORARY RULES, 1968.

I, MICHAEL J. WYMES, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 89 (3) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), and with the consent of the Minister for Local Government, hereby make the following temporary rules in respect of the area comprising the urban district of Dundalk:—

1. These rules may be cited as the Dundalk Traffic (One-Way Streets) Temporary Rules, 1968.

2. These rules shall come into operation on the 22nd day of December, 1968.

3. Each street or portion of a street mentioned in column (2) of the First Schedule to these rules shall be a one-way street at all times.

4. Traffic using a street or portion of a street mentioned in column (2) of the said First Schedule shall travel in the direction indicated in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the mention in the said column (2) of that street or portion of a street, and in no other direction.

5. Traffic approaching a street junction mentioned in column (2) of the Second Schedule to these rules, by an approach route mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the mention of that junction in the said column (2), shall not proceed straight ahead across that junction.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Rule 4 provides that traffic using a street or portion of a street mentioned in column (2) of the First Schedule shall travel in a direction indicated in column (3) of that Schedule, and in no other direction.

Rule 5 provides that traffic using an approach route mentioned in column (3) of the Second Schedule shall not proceed straight ahead at the junction specified in column (2) of that Schedule.
