FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (REGULATIONS OF MOVEMENT OF PERSONS) ORDER, 1967.

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 15 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby, for the prevention of the spreading of foot and mouth disease, order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Regulation of Movement of Persons) Order, 1967.

2. (1) Where a notice is served under Article 9 of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1956 ), an inspector, or an officer of the Minister appointed by the Minister to be an authorised officer for the purpose of the said Order, may, at any place which is not more than five miles distant from the place declared by the said notice to be an infected place, serve a notice under this Order on any person.

(2) A notice under this Order shall require the person on whom it is served to regulate, to the extent and during the period specified in the notice, his movement from place to place in the area comprised of all places which are not more than five miles distant from the infected place mentioned in paragraph (1).

3. Any person upon whom notice is served under this Order shall comply with the requirements of the notice.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order enables an inspector or an authorised officer of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries to regulate the movement of persons within a radius of five miles from a place which has been declared, under the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956, to be an infected place.
