FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (RESTRICTION OF EXHIBITION AND SALE OF BOVINE ANIMALS) ORDER, 1967.

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) hereby, for the prevention of the spreading of foot and mouth disease, order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Exhibition and Sale of Bovine Animals) Order, 1967.

2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of December, 1967, and shall remain in force up to and including the 31st day of December, 1967.

3. Subject to Article 4, the public exhibition by any person of any bovine animal for show or sale is hereby prohibited.

4. This Order shall not apply in relation to the exhibition of a bovine animal for show or sale at—

(a) a livestock mart licensed under section 3 of the Livestock Marts Act, 1967 (No. 20 of 1967);

(b) a market held under the Dublin Corporation (Markets) Act, 1899;

(c) any fair exempted from the provisions of this Order under a licence granted in that behalf by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and which is for the time being in force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to prohibit the presentation of cattle for sale or exhibition at fairs or shows otherwise than at a licensed livestock mart or at Dublin Cattle Market or under a special licence.
