SOCIAL WELFARE (OLD AGE (CONTRIBUTORY) PENSION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, JOSEPH BRENNAN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and section 28A of the said Act (inserted therein by section 10 of the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1960 (No. 25 of 1960)), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967.

(2) The Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 to 1965, and these Regulations may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 to 1967.

2. —These Regulations shall come into operation on the 5th day of January, 1968.

3. —In these Regulations, " the Principal Regulations " means the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 ( S.I. No. 274 of 1960 ).

4. —The following Schedule shall be substituted for the Schedule to the Principal Regulations as inserted by article 4 of the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) (Amendment) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 173 of 1965 ).

"SCHEDULE

Reduced rates of old age (contributory) pensions where contribution conditions are partially satisfied.

Average number of contributions paid or credited per contribution year in the relevant period.	Reduced weekly rate at which pension is payable.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 to 1965, which provide for payment of reduced rates of old age (contributory) pension where the contribution conditions are partially satisfied, for the purpose of increasing these reduced rates to 62s., 59s., 56s., and 53s., from 57s., 54s., 51s., and 48s., respectively as from 5th January, 1968.
