UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (DATE OF PUBLICATION OF CENSUS) ORDER, 1967.

I, SEOSAMH Ó BRAONÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 2 (1) of the Unemployment Assistance (Amendment) Act, 1938 (No. 2 of 1938), and the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 (S.R. & O., No. 18 of 1947), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Unemployment Assistance (Date of Publication of Census) Order, 1967.

2. The date of publication of the result of the census of population taken in the year 1966 is hereby certified to be the 30th day of May, 1967.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Urban districts having a population exceeding 7,000 as shown by the latest census of population are classified as urban areas under the Unemployment Assistance Acts. Following the taking of a census the Minister for Social Welfare is required under statute to certify by order for the purposes of the Unemployment Assistance Acts the date on which the result is published and the date so certified is deemed to be the date of the census.

In this Order the Minister for Social Welfare certifies the date of publication of the 1966 census of population.
