IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 161) (PNEUMATIC TYRES) ORDER, 1967.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 161) (Pneumatic Tyres) Order, 1967.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of May, 1967.

3. The Imposition of Duties (No. 159) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1966, ( S.I. No. 132 of 1966 ) is hereby amended by—

(a) the deletion of the matter in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 40.11 (A) (1), and

(b) the insertion of "(e), (h)", "45% or £3 each+", "45% or £3 each +", "45% or £3 each+" in the second, third, fourth, and fifth columns, respectively, of the Schedule at tariff heading number 40.11 (A) (1).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order increases the minimum specific duty of customs on pneumatic tyres for certain mechanically propelled vehicles, imported from countries other than the United Kingdom, from 12s. 6d. to £3 per article.
