INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH AND STANDARDS (SECTION 44) (CHILDREN'S NIGHTDRESSES) ORDER, 1967.

I, SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in excercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 44 of the Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1961 (No. 20 of 1961), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Industrial Research and Standards (Section 44) (Children's Nightdresses) Order, 1967.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1967.

3. It shall be unlawful to manufacture, assemble or sell a children's nightdress unless it complies with Irish Standard 148 : 1966 (being the standard specification for flammability of children's nightdresses declared by the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards).

4. This Order shall apply only to a nightdress intended for sale to the public in the State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to prohibit the manufacture, assembly or sale of children's nightdresses unless they comply with the prescribed flammability requirements.
