TOTALISATOR (MULTIPLE EVENT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1966.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (1) of the Totalisator Act, 1929 (No. 22 of 1929), hereby make the following regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Totalisator (Multiple Event) (Amendment) Regulations, 1966.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. Regulation 7 (1) of the Totalisator (Multiple Event) Regulations, 1966 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1966 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (b):

" (b) where there are no successful totalisator tickets, not less than eighty-five per cent. of the total amount so staked shall be carried forward and added, either in whole or in such parts as the licensees shall determine, to the amount or amounts distributable at such subsequent multipleevent or events, whether at a particular racecourse or at different racecourses, as the licensees shall determine,"

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations extend the existing provisions relating to the method of allocating to subsequent multiple events the amount distributable by the totalisator in respect of multiple events in horse racing in cases where there has been no successful totalisator ticket.
