SOCIAL WELFARE (DISABILITY, UNEMPLOYMENT AND MARRIAGE BENEFIT) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS, 1965.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations:—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 1965.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the expression "the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1965".

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 3rd day of January, 1966.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the First Schedule to the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1953 ) as amended by article 3 of the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 258 of 1963 ):—

Article 4.

Reduced Rates of Disability and Unemployment Benefit.

Full weekly rate of benefit applicable under Part I of the Third Schedule to the Act as amended by the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (No. 20 of 1965).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Consequent on the increase in the maximum rates of disability and unemployment benefit effected by the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 , these Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1953 ) for the purpose of increasing the reduced rates payable where the contribution condition in respect of the governing contribution year is only partially satisfied.
