COPYRIGHT (FOREIGN COUNTRIES) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1963

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 175 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927 (No. 16 of 1927), as amended by section 11 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) (Amendment) Act, 1929 (No. 13 of 1929), and section 11 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) (Amendment) Act, 1957 (No. 13 of 1957), and as adapted by section 2 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 20 of 1937), hereby order as follows:

1. . This Order may be cited as the Copyright (Foreign Countries) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1963

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this order.

3. The Copyright (Foreign Countries) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 50 of 1959 ), shall have effect as if—

(a) in Part I of the First Schedule before "Yugoslavia", there were inserted "Republic of Upper Volta", and

(b) in Part II of that Schedule—

(i) after "Federal Republic of Germany and Land Berlin" there were inserted "Finland", and

(ii) after "Pakistan" there were inserted "Paraguay".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order adds Republic of Upper Volta to the countries of the Berne Union as listed in Part I of the First Schedule to the Copyright (Foreign Countries) Order, 1959, and Finland and Paraguay to the countries of the Universal Copyright Convention listed in Part II of the said Schedule.
