SOCIAL WELFARE (MODIFICATIONS OF INSURANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1963.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and by section 12 of the said Act as amended by section 9 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1963 (No. 26 of 1963) hereby make the following Regulations with the sanction of the Minister for Finance:—

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1963.

(2) The Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 to 1960, and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 to 1963.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1963.

3. The Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956, shall be amended by the insertion in sub-article (1) of article 5 after sub-paragraph (f) of the following sub-paragraph:—

"(ff) pensionable employment as a teacher in a domestic science training college recognised by the Minister for Education;".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 (S.I. No. 236) so as to provide for the application as from 2nd September, 1963, of the reduced rates of employment contributions giving title to widows' (contributory) pension or orphans' (contributory) allowance to persons in pensionable employment as teachers in domestic science training colleges recognised by the Minister for Education, as in the case of other classes of pensionable teachers.
