S.I. No. 75/1963 - Dáil Éireann (Dublin North-East) Bye-Election Order, 1963.


The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 18 of the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923) as substituted by section 7 of the Electoral Act, 1960 (No. 43 of 1960) and subsection (3) of section 41 of the Electoral Act, 1923 as substituted by section 2 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 31 of 1946) hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Dáil Éireann (Dublin North-East) Bye-Election Order, 1963.

2. The poll at the election to return a member to fill the vacancy in Dáil Éireann occasioned by the death of Jack Belton, a member for the borough constituency of Dublin North-East, shall be taken on the 30th day of May, 1963 and shall be kept open until the hour of 9.30 p.m.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the polling day and extends the hours of polling until 9.30 p.m. for the bye-election in the Dublin North-East constituency to elect a member to fill the vacancy in Dáil Éireann occasioned by the death of Jack Belton.
