APPRENTICESHIP ACT (INITIAL REGISTRATION FEE) RULES, 1963.

An Cheard-Chomhairle, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 55 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 (No. 39 of 1959), hereinafter called " the Act ", and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby makes the following rules :

1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Apprenticeship Act (Initial Registration Fee) Rules, 1963.

(2) For the purposes of these Rules " designated trade " and " apprenticeship committee " shall have the meaning given to them in subsection (1) of section 2 of the Act.

(3) These Rules shall come into operation in respect of each designated trade on and from the date on which the apprenticeship committee for the trade commences to keep a register of apprentices under subsection (1) of section 44 of the Act.

2. Ten shillings is hereby prescribed as the amount of the fee which shall be paid to An Cheard-Chomhairle under subsection (1) of section 55 of the Act by a person taken into employment by way of apprenticeship.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce hereby consents to the above Rules.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of these Rules is to fix the amount to be paid for registration in the Register of Apprentices by persons taken into employment by way of apprenticeship in trades designated under the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 .

Announcements will be made from time to time as to the dates on which the Registers of Apprenticeship are opened.
