SOCIAL WELFARE (OLD AGE (CONTRIBUTORY) PENSION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1962.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and section 28A of the said Act (inserted therein by section 10 of the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1960 (No. 25 of 1960)), hereby make the following Regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) (Amendment) Regulations, 1962.

(2) The Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 ( S.I. No. 274 of 1960 ) and these Regulations may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960 and 1962.

2.—(1) The Schedule to the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960, is hereby amended by the substitution in the second column of 32/6d. for 30/-.

(2) This article shall come into operation on the 3rd day of August, 1962.

3.—(1) The following Schedule shall be substituted for the Schedule to the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960, as amended by article 2 of these Regulations :—

SCHEDULE.

Reduced rates of old age (contributory) pensions where contribution conditions are partially satisfied.

Average number of contributions paid or credited per contribution year in the relevant period.	Reduced weekly rate at which pension is payable.

(2) This article shall come into operation on the 4th day of January, 1963.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension) Regulations, 1960, which provide for payment of reduced rates of old age (contributory) pension where the contribution conditions are partially satisfied, for the purpose of increasing the reduced weekly rate of pension of 30/- by 2/6d. with effect from 3rd August, 1962, and by a further 2/6d. with effect from 4th January, 1963, and of increasing all other reduced weekly rates of pension by 5/- with effect from 4th January, 1963.
