CORONERS ACT, 1962 (PARTICULARS FOR REGISTRATION OF DEATH) REGULATIONS, 1962

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 3 of the Coroners Act, 1962 (No. 9 of 1962), after consultation with the Minister for Health, hereby make the following regulations :

1. These Regualtions may be cited as the Coroners Act, 1962 (Particulars for Registration of Death) Regulations, 1962.

2. Every certificate to be issued by a coroner for the registration of a death in accordance with section 50 of the Coroners Act, 1962 (No. 9 of 1962) shall contain the following particulars—

(a) in the case of a certificate under subsection (1) ;

(i) date of death,

(ii) place of death,

(iii) name, surname and home address of deceased,

(iv) sex of deceased,

(v) whether deceased was married, widowed or single,

(vi) age of deceased (in hours if under one day; in completed days if under one month ; in completed months if under one year ; otherwise in completed years at last birthday),

(vii) occupation of deceased (in full detail) and where deceased was a married or widowed woman, occupation of husband,

(viii) cause of death and duration of last illness ; and

(b) in the case of a certificate under subsection (2) ;

(i) date of death,

(ii) place of death,

(iii) name, surname and home address of deceased.

These regulations prescribe the particulars to be furnished by a coroner to a registrar of deaths.
