SAVINGS CERTIFICATES (SIXTH ISSUE) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1961.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 30 of the Finance Act, 1940 (No. 14 of 1940), hereby make the following rules :

1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Savings Certificates (Sixth Issue) (Amendment) Rules, 1961.

(2) The Savings Certificates (Sixth Issue) Rules, 1956 ( S.I. No. 101 of 1956 ), and these Rules may be cited together as the Savings Certificates (Sixth Issue) Rules, 1956 and 1961.

2. The Savings Certificates (Sixth Issue) Rules, 1956, are hereby amended by the substitution of the following Rule for Rule 5 :

" 5. No person shall at any time hold or have an interest in savings certificates of the sixth issue (whether unit certificates or certificates other than unit certificates) of a greater purchase price in the aggregate than £1,250."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This instrument raises from £1,000 (purchase price) to £1,250 (purchase price) the limit on the amount of savings certificates of the sixth issue that may be held by an individual.
