CENSORSHIP OF FILMS (EXHIBITION OF CENSOR'S CERTIFICATE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1961.

I, OSCAR TRAYNOR, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923), hereby make the following Regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) (Amendment) Regulations, 1961.

(2) The Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 ( S. R. & O. No. 13 of 1926 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 and 1961.

2. The Regulation set out in the Schedule to these Regulations is hereby inserted in the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926, after Regulation 2.

SCHEDULE.

2A. Regulations 1 and 2 shall have effect subject to the proviso that—

(a) where a group of two or more different pictures is exhibited, whether once or more than once,

(b) the average of the periods of exhibition of the pictures (excluding pictures exhibited as advertisements) is not more than fifteen minutes, and

(c) there is kept displayed, in a conspicuous position at or near the principal entrance to the premises in which the pictures are exhibited, a notice in clearly legible letters in the form set out in the Appendix to this Regulation,

there shall be an option, in respect of every exhibition of the group, to exhibit all the facsimile copies or reproductions of the certificates granted in respect of the pictures by the Official Censor immediately before the exhibition of the first picture to be exhibited and to incorporate the certificates in the film of that picture.

APPENDIX.

NOTICE.

Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 and 1961.

As the programme in this cinema consists of short pictures certificates of censorship are permitted by the above Regulations to be exhibited at the beginning of the programme.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations permit certificates of censorship to be exhibited at the beginning of the programme (instead of having each certificate exhibited at the beginning of the film to which it relates) in any cinema where the programme consists of short pictures.
