IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (IRON AND STEEL UMBRELLA SHAFTS) ORDER, 1960.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Iron and Steel Umbrella Shafts) Order, 1960.

2. The duty of customs imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 267) (Personal Clothing and Wearing Apparel) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 357 of 1951 ), shall not, as respects articles imported on or after the 14th day of June, 1960, be charged or levied on steel or iron shafts which are for umbrellas and are not assembled beyond the stage of having two springs and a stopper attached.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to exempt from Customs duty iron and steel umbrella shafts not assembled beyond the stage of having two springs and a stopper attached.
