IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (COATED ALUMINIUM STRIP) ORDER, 1960.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Coated Aluminium Strip) Order, 1960.

2. Neither the duty of customs imposed by the Imposition of Duties (No. 57) (Aluminium Sheet, Strip and Foil) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 16 of 1959 ), nor the duty of customs imposed by the Imposition of Duties (No. 59) (Aluminium Sections) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 59 of 1959 ), shall be charged or levied on strip which is—

(a) made wholly or mainly of aluminium or of an alloy of which aluminium is the main constituent,

(b) imported in rolls,

(c) formed to a concave shape,

(d) of a width not exceeding two and one-half inches,

(e) coloured or lacquered on both sides,

(f) not less than seventeen two-thousandths of an inch nor more than thirteen one-thousandths of an inch in thickness inclusive of colouring or lacquering, and

(g) is imported on or after the 29th day of January, 1960, and before the 1st day of October, 1961.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the above Order is to exempt from Customs duty certain coated aluminium strip which is imported before Ist October, 1961.
