HARBOUR RATES (DROGHEDA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1947 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1959.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and after due compliance with Section 106 of the said Act, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 (Amendment) Order, 1959.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of August, 1959.

2. The Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 228 of 1947 ), shall have effect as if—

(a) the rates set out in the First Schedule and the Second Schedule were increased by twenty per cent.

(b) the rates set out at reference number 1 in the Third Schedule (inserted therein by the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 (Amendment) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1957 )), including the fee set out opposite the proviso contained at that reference number, were increased by one hundred per cent., and

(c) for the matter contained at reference number 4 in the Fourth Schedule, there were substituted the following :—

" 4 Use of coal depöt

(i) for every ton of coal, up to 2,000 tons per annum deposited, a sum not exceeding

(ii) for every additional ton of coal, up to 4,000 tons per annum deposited, a sum not exceeding

0.

(iii) for every ton of coal, above 4,000 tons per annum deposited, a sum not exceeding

3. Paragraph (a) of Article 2 of the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 (Amendment) Order, 1957, shall cease to have effect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to enable the Drogheda Harbour Commissioners to charge increased goods rates and tonnage rates, and make increased charges for the use of the weighbridge and coal depot, at Drogheda Harbour.
