Rules regulating minimum age of entry.

26.—(1) An Chomhairle shall make rules specifying the minimum age at which employment by way of apprenticeship may commence in a designated trade and, where there is more than one apprenticeship district for the purposes of the trade, An Chomhairle may make different rules for each district.

(2) Before making rules under this section, An Chomhairle shall consult with the apprenticeship committee (if any) established for the district in which the proposed rules are to have effect.

(3) A person carrying on the trade to which rules under this section relate shall not take into his employment by way of apprenticeship in the trade and in an apprenticeship district in which the rules have effect, a person unless that person has reached the age specified in the rules.
