Short title, commencement and collective citations. |
4.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1959. | |
(2) This Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1959. | ||
(3) The Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1957, and section 1 of this Act may be cited together as the Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1959. | ||
(4) The Unemployment Assistance Acts, 1933 to 1957, and section 2 of this Act may be cited together as the Unemployment Assistance Acts, 1933 to 1959. | ||
(5) The Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Acts, 1935 to 1957, and section 3 of this Act may be cited together as the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Acts, 1935 to 1959. |
