COMMITTEES OF AGRICULTURE (OFFICERS' TRAVELLING EXPENSES AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE AND EXPENSES) REGULATIONS, 1956 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1958.

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), and section 6 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 17 of 1958), hereby make the following regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1956 (Amendment) Regulations, 1958.

(2) The Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1956 and 1957, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1956 to 1958.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1958.

4. Part II of the Schedule to the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 70 of 1956 ), is hereby amended by—

(a) the substitution of " nine pence " for " eight pence three farthings " in clause (e) of subparagraph (1) of paragraph 4, and

(b) the substitution of " ten pence halfpenny for "ten pence " and of " four pence three farthings" for " four pence halfpenny " in clause (f) of that subparagraph.

These Regulations provide for increases in rates of travelling expenses payable to officers of Committees of Agriculture.
