FISHERIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1958.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 2 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 15 of 1958), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be, cited as the Fisheries (Amendment Act, 1958 (Commencement) Order, 1958.

2. In this Order, the expression " the Act " means the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 15 of 1958).

3. The 17th day of November, 1958, is hereby fixed as the day on which sections 24, 28, 29 and 30 of the Act shall come into operation.

4. The 1st day of January, 1959, is hereby fixed as the day on which section 23 of the act shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that :—

(1) As from 17th November, 1958, persons fishing for oysters must, under penalty, hold a licence issued by the board of conservators for the area

and

(2) As from 1st January, 1959, persons dealing in or exporting rainbow trout are required to be licensed under the Fisheries Acts.
