Destructive Insects and Pests (Consolidation) Act, 1958

Orders for preventing introduction of destructive insects or pests or agents for the biological control of plant pests.

2.—(1) The Minister may from time to time make such orders as he thinks expedient for preventing the introduction into the State of any destructive insect or pest or any agent for the biological control of plant pests.

(2) An order under this section, if the Minister thinks fit, may prohibit or regulate the landing in the State of any article brought from a place out of the State, the landing whereof may appear to the Minister likely to introduce any destructive insect or pest or any agent for the biological control of plant pests into the State, and may direct or authorise the destruction of any such article, if landed.
