THE PIGS AND BACON ACTS 1935 TO 1956 (PIGS AND BACON COMMISSION) REGULATIONS (No. 2) ORDER, 1957.

WHEREAS Section 42 (1) and (2) of the Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1939 , (No. 35 of 1939) provides that every person who claims to be entitled to be paid a subsidy may apply in the prescribed form and manner for payment of such subsidy and every application shall contain or be accompanied by the prescribed particulars and the prescribed documents of or relating to the claim for such subsidy.

NOW THEREFORE the Pigs and Bacon Commission (hereinafter referred to as " the Commission ") in exercise of the powers vested in it under the said Section hereby orders that the following provisions shall have effect as Regulations under the said Acts :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Acts, 1935 to 1956 (Pigs and Bacon Commission) Regulations (No. 2) Order, 1957.

2. Every application to the Commission for payment of subsidy on exported bacon shall be made in the form in the schedule hereto and shall contain the relevant particulars asked for or otherwise indicated in the said form.

3. For the purpose of these Regulations bacon shall not be deemed to have been exported until it has been cleared at its destination by the Customs Authorities.

4. Applications for payment of subsidy on exported bacon shall be accompanied by a Certificate of a Veterinary Examiner of the Department of Agriculture certifying that the particulars in regard to date and route of shipment and quantity exported are correct and that the bacon was graded and weighed and the bales, boxes and containers sealed by him or under his direction and such other certificate or evidence as the Commission may require.

5. Unless a contrary intention is indicated by the context all words and expressions used in these Regulations shall be construed as in the Pigs and Bacon Acts 1935 to 1956.

6. This Order shall come into operation on the 9th day of August, 1957.

Explanatory Note.

This Order prescribes the form and manner in which application shall be made to the Commission by licensed bacon curers for payment of subsidy on bacon exported by them on and after 9th August, 1957.

Notes :

(1) After the certificate below has been completed by the veterinary examiner, this application should be forwarded by the curer to the Secretary, Pigs and Bacon Commission. A further copy of the application should be given to the officer of the Department of Agriculture/Pigs and Bacon Commission in charge at the curer's premises.

(2) The net weights ex factory given overleaf should be the net weights before the 1% shrinkage allowance is deducted.
