MILK AND DAIRIES REGULATIONS, 1936 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1957.

I, SEÁN MOYLAN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 34 of the Milk and Dairies Act, 1935 (No. 22 of 1935), as amended by section 22 of the Milk and Dairies (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 42 of 1956), Article 4 of the Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 58 of 1947 ), and Article 5 of the Agriculture and Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 417 of 1947 ), and with the concurrence of the Minister for Health, hereby make the following regulations :

1. These regulations may be cited as the Milk and Dairies Regulations, 1936 (Amendment) Regulations, 1957.

2. These regulations shall come into operation on the 30th day of July, 1957.

3. Article 58 of the Milk and Dairies Regulations, 1936 ( S. R. & O. No. 310 of 1936 ), is hereby amended by the insertion after paragraph (1) of the following paragraph :

" (1A) A veterinary inspector when inspecting a cow under these regulations may, if the cow is suffering from a disease to which Part VI of the Act, as amended by section 24 of the Milk and Dairies (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 42 of 1956), applies, require that milk taken from the cow shall be disposed of in accordance with his directions."

Explanatory Note.

The effect of this Order is to give power to Veterinary Inspectors appointed by Sanitary Authorities to require that milk taken from cows which they find are suffering from certain specified diseases shall be disposed of in accordance with their directions.
