SUGAR (PROHIBITION OF IMPORT) ORDER, 1956 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1957.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 2 and 5 of the Sugar (Control of Import) Act, 1936 (No. 16 of 1936), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1957.

2. Article 5 of the Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 319 of 1956 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to discontinue the arrangement under which sugar for use in the manufacture of goods for export elsewhere than to Britain and the Six Counties Area, could be imported by persons other than Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann Teoranta, on a certificate furnished by the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
