LOCAL GOVERNMENT (IRELAND) ACT, 1898 (SECTION 36) (WICKLOW COUNTY COUNCIL) ORDER, 1957.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 36 of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898 (Section 36) (Wicklow County Council) Order, 1957.

2. The Council of the County of Wicklow are hereby authorised to exercise within the County Health District of Wicklow the powers conferred on an urban district council by section 36 of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to authorise Wicklow County Council to exercise within the County Health District of Wicklow the powers conferred on an urban district council by section 36 of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898. Section 36 empowers urban district councils to provide recreation grounds and public walks.
