Resignation and removal of member of the Board and filling of casual vacancies.

12.—(1) A member of the Board may at any time resign his office as member of the Board by letter sent by registered post to the Board, and the resignation shall take effect at the commencement of the meeting of the Board held next after the receipt of the letter if the resignation is not withdrawn in writing before that meeting.

(2) A member of the Board appointed by the Minister may be removed from office by the Minister.

(3) A member of the Board appointed by the representative of the United States may be removed from office by the representative of the United States.

(4) Where a member of the Board appointed by the Minister dies, resigns or is removed from office, the Minister shall, as soon as conveniently may be, appoint another person who shall be an Irish citizen to be a member.

(5) Where a member of the Board appointed by the representative of the United States dies, resigns or is removed from office, the representative of the United States shall, as soon as conveniently may be, appoint another person who shall be a citizen of the United States of America to be a member.
