MILK AND DAIRIES (FEES FOR BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1956.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 15 and 50 of the Milk and Dairies Act, 1935 (No. 22 of 1935) as adapted by the Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 (S.R. & O. 1947, No. 58), hereby orders as follows :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Milk and Dairies (Fees for Bacteriological Examination) (Amendment) Regulations, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) shall apply to these regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1957.

4. In these Regulations " the Principal Regulations " means the Milk and Dairies (Fees for Bacteriological Examination) Regulations, 1936 (S.R. and O. 1937 No. 16).

5. Article 3 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution of " ten shillings " for " seven shillings and sixpence ".

6. The Table of Fees in the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by—

(1) the substitution in paragraph (1) of " fifteen shillings " for " ten shillings " after " For each cultural examination ";

(2) the substitution in paragraph (2) of " ten shillings " for " five shillings " after " For each serological examination ";

(3) the substitution in paragraph (3) after " For each biological examination " of

" (a) if two animals are used—two pounds ten shillings;

(b) if one animal only is used—one pound ten shillings " for

" (a) if two animals are used—one pound ten shillings ;

(b) if one animal only is used—one pound ";

(4) the substitution in paragraph (4) of " seven shillings and sixpence " for " five shillings " after " For each microscopic examination ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations increase the fees payable to bacteriological examiners for the examination and testing of samples of milk under the Milk and Dairies Act, 1935 .
