GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Social Welfare, this 30th day of June, 1956.

BRENDAN CORISH,

Minister for Social Welfare.

The Minister for Finance hereby sanctions the foregoing Regulations.

Dated this 30th day of June, 1956.

GERARD SWEETMAN,

Minister for Finance.

Explanatory Note

These Regulations adjust the rates at which disability, unemployment and marriage benefit will be payable on and after the 5th July, 1956, in those cases in which the number of employment contributions paid or credited in respect of the relevant contribution year is less than 48 but not less than 26. The adjustment is consequential on the reduction from 50 to 48 of the number of paid or credited employment contributions required in respect of the relevant contribution year for payment of these benefits at full rates. The reduction was effected by the Social Welfare (Modification of Contribution Conditions for Benefit) Regulations, 1956, and will operate from and including the 5th July, 1956.
