TOTALISATOR (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1956.

I, GERARD SWEETMAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Totalisator Act, 1929 (No. 22 of 1929), hereby make the following regulations :

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Totalisator (Amendment) Regulations, 1956.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of July, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. " eighty-five " is hereby substituted for " ninety "—

(i) in paragraph (a) and in paragraph (b) of Regulation 13 of the Totalisator Regulations, 1930, and

(ii) in paragraph (a) and in paragraph (b) of Regulation 7 of the Totalisator (Double Event) Regulations, 1935 ( S. R. & O. No. 26 of 1936 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations enable the Racing Board to retain at its discretion a sum not exceeding fifteen per cent. of the sums staked with the Totalisator in lieu of the ten per cent. operative since 1930.
