EMERGENCY POWERS (NO. 293) ORDER, 1943 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1956.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (No. 293) Order, 1943 (Amendment) Order, 1956.

2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the Emergency Powers (No. 293) Order, 1943 (S. R. & O. No. 318 of 1943).

3.—(1) Paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Principal Order is hereby amended by the deletion of subparagraphs (b), (c) and (d) and the insertion in lieu thereof of the following subparagraph :

" (b) providing for all or any of the following matters, that is to say :

(i) fixing, in respect of non-factory-purchased pigs of any class sold during the currency of such order, the minimum price (in terms of a rate per hundredweight live weight) thereof,

(ii) fixing, in respect of carcases of factory-purchased pigs of any grade of any graded class sold during the currency of such order, the minimum price (in terms of a rate per hundredweight) thereof,

(iii) fixing, in respect of carcases of factory-purchased pigs of any non-graded class sold during the currency of such order, the minimum price (in terms of a rate per hundredweight) thereof."

(2) Where, pursuant to subparagraph (b) of paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Principal Order (being the subparagraph inserted by paragraph (1) of this Article), a minimum price order under the said Article 4 provides for some only of the matters specified in that subparagraph, the operation in relation to that minimum price order of Article 5 of the Principal Order shall be restricted correspondingly.
