CONTROL OF IMPORTS (AMENDMENT OF QUOTA No. 4 AND REVOCATION OF QUOTA No. 29) ORDER, 1955.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Amendment of Quota No. 4 and Revocation of Quota No. 29) Order, 1955.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1936 ( S. R. & O. No. 13 of 1936 ), is hereby revoked and, accordingly, the prohibition on the importation of boots and shoes effected by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934 ( S. R. & O. No. 243 of 1934 ), shall extend and apply to the articles which were referred to in the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1936.

4. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 29) Order, 1936 ( S. R. & O. No. 17 of 1936 ), is hereby revoked.

5. This Order shall come into operation on the 31st day of December, 1955.
