GRAND CANAL (BLACKWOOD BRANCH) (CESSER OF MAINTENANCE) ORDER, 1955.

WHEREAS, by Warrant granted under section 45 of the Railway and Canal Traffic Act, 1888, and entitled the Grand Canal (Blackwood Branch) (Abandonment) Warrant, 1955, the Minister for Industry and Commerce has authorised Córas Iompair Éireann to abandon, as an unnecessary canal, the Blackwood Branch of the Grand Canal in the County of Kildare :

AND WHEREAS notice of the granting of the Warrant has been duly published as required by the Minister :

NOW, I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the powers conferred by section 45 of the Railway and Canal Traffic Act, 1888, and of every other power enabling me in this behalf, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Grand Canal (Blackwood Branch) (Cesser of Maintenance) Order, 1955.

2. Córas Iompair Éireann are hereby released from all liability to maintain the Blackwood Branch of the Grand Canal in the County of Kildare and from all statutory or other obligations in respect thereof, or of or consequent on the abandonment thereof pursuant to the said recited Warrant.
